Sussies Bday & More!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone! I hope it's been a great 2010 for you. I am really looking forward to 2011 - a new year - a chance to start anew! I'm ready!

And Scrapbook Sussies is ready! In January, Scrapbook Sussies turns FIVE!!!

That's right a big
:birthday:
to Scrapbook Sussies!!!

January is our 5th birthday! It's hard to believe that five years have gone by! I'd love to have everybody come celebrate with us! The Year of the Sussie 2011 is the big celebration, of course.
OVER $135 IN FREE PRODUCT FOR LOYAL CUSTOMERS!!!

If you haven't heard of this, here's how it works...
:115:

1. You begin your subscription in January (you can begin it before then, too, but you HAVE to be on board for the January kit).

2. Scrapbook Sussies is a no-commitment kit club. You can skip any month that you want and you can cancel at any time. HOWEVER, for those who do not skip, that's where the goodies come in....

3. Beginning in February, you will receive free goodies with your kit. They start small, but grow as the year goes on!

4. Once you skip a month, however, you are bumped out of the program until the next year's program starts.

5. DON'T WORRY, THOUGH! This year, we've added a little escape clause! If there is a month you would like to skip, but there is a past kit that you would like to get instead (that is in stock, of course), you can replace your monthly kit with the past kit and you'll still be in the program!!

6. Also, if you make it to June, each month your name gets dropped into the year-end drawing. The grand prize is a 6 month sub to Sussies, but, each month, a new prize is added to the pot. The drawing will be held at the end of December...

Here's a list of the upcoming freebies...

FEBRUARY - Free set of additional cardstock - $4.00
MARCH - KI Memories Sashes - $5.00
APRIL - Quickutz stamps and tags (Don't worry, you don't need a quickutz machine for these at all!!) - $10.00
MAY - My Mind's Eye mini-kit - $10.00
JUNE* - Goodie Bag & entry into year-end drawing - $12.00
JULY - Bella Blvd mini-kit & entry into year-end drawing- $14.00
AUGUST* - Goodie Bag & entry into year-end drawing- $15.00
SEPTEMBER* - Small Sussie & entry into year-end drawing- $4.00
OCTOBER - Special Edition Sussies Kit & entry into year-end drawing- $25.00
NOVEMBER* - Small Sussie & entry into year-end drawing - $4.00
DECEMBER - FREE JANUARY 2012 Kit & entry into year-end drawing - $36.00

TOTAL - $139.00 of FREE PRODUCT!!

And don't forget, that Scrapbook Sussies kits are all worth $36.00, but you only pay $29.95 each month!!! We also have add-ons (embellishment, patterned paper and cardstock) and extras that we don't charge additional shipping for!!! They are always the best price for subscribers!!!

*The months of June, August, September, and November are subject to change as things become more definite, but the value will only increase.

Just a Quick Post!

Wanted to wish everyone a belated Merry Christmas. I hope you had a wonderful day and are relaxing today! We're cleaning house as my parents are driving up from Texas tomorrow. I'm grateful for the nice weather for their trip but I'd really love to get that blizzard that is supposed to be hitting the east coast today!

Just a real quick (and small!) peak of some of the January Sussies kit. I made small clipboards for the teachers this year for Christmas - made this one using the January kit:

They were simple to make (thankfully!) and just by stamping their names made them seem so much more personal!

I won't be back posting until after the first of the year - so have a Happy New Year!

Quick Christmas Cards

Last Thursday night I realized I hadn't had a chance to make any cards for the teacher's gifts so I turned to my scraps from the December kit. Just thought I'd share a few with you! All I did was add kraft cardstock.

Hope you are enjoying a Christmas break! I had to work today but now I'm off until next year!

Forgetful Me!

I finished this layout with the December Sussies Kit a couple of weeks ago, but I still haven't gotten it uploaded. Then I planned to post it on this blog post that was suppose to go up on Friday! Let's just say that it's been busy around here, as I'm sure you've been busy too! So anyway, here's another layout I did for the December reveal.

The perfect gift...

for non-scrapbookers! I have so many friends that admire my scrappy work but always say that they don't have time, it's too much work, they don't know how, etc. etc. It boggles my mind because most of them have kids that they take gobs of pictures of, and then never end up doing much with the pictures. So...this year I will be giving some hand-made gifts where all they need to do is add the pictures.

This month's Sussies kit was so jam-packed with fun winter/holiday goodies that it was perfect for a mini-album! The one I made has an acrylic cover and tabs on every page.

Can't wait to give this as a gift and see the finished product when the pictures have been added!

Do You Hear What I Hear?

Don't you love Christmas music in December? I can be in a crabby mood and then I hear one of the old classics and my mood changes. I heard a song today about Christmas Shoes - I had never heard the song but new when I was listening that it was going to bring tears to my eyes. I really loved the song but I'm not sure I should buy it just for the emotional impact!

I'm trying to finish up a few little handmade gifts for the teachers and bake some cookies and make a few more cards and I'm still trying to work in my scrapbooking!

Here's another layout to share with you using the Crate Paper side of the kit! I just loved the trees so much that I cut them out and used them as a border! I did add a couple of rub-on trees as well just for a little extra :)

I'm starting to look forward to Christmas - school is out this week and maybe we can have a slower week before Christmas! Hope you're getting everything done that needs to be done and still enjoying the season!

Tis the Season

Hello and Happy Saturday! If you are like me, you are most likely the designated photo taker in your family. I know the pressure is during the holidays to get the ultimate pictures, especially ones that you want to scrapbook! This year I am taking the pressure off, and focusing on taking pictures throughout the month that reflect the holiday season. So when that special morning comes, I can enjoy opening gifts with the family, and still take a few pictures stress free! (This layout was created with the December kit, I can't get enough of it!)

January Sneaks

It's ten minutes before I have to leave to help at Ryan's school. It's his 6th birthday today!! Then, I'll have time to come home to make gingerbread house icing just to turn around and go back to help make the houses in Annie's class. Then Annie's Christmas Show Choir show tonight, Ryan's birthday party tomorrow, my work holiday party on Sunday, make Christmas cookies, finish shopping, visit Santa, figure out what to buy for my mother-in-law, begin the Christmas cards, finish the Christmas cards, etc, etc, etc... Sound familiar??

Well, I had to at least stop by here and put up the January sneak peeks. January will feature October Afternoon Campfire and Fancy Pants It's Your Day (very appropriate because January is Scrapbook Sussies 5th birthday!!!)

Hurry up and sign up for your subscription today! The 2011 Year of the Sussie begins in January and you need to be on board then in order to begin getting the over $140 in free goodies for loyal customers! Email me at lmcclendon@scrapbooksussies.com if you want more details. But details will be coming soon, too....

For now, here's the peeks....

Plain Ole White Paper

You know that white paper that comes in the sheet protectors when you buy them? Well, instead of throwing it away, use it! On this layout, I used it to not only matte my photos, I also kept a large piece of it showing to journal on. I used it to put my rub ons (the snowflakes and presents) down on and then cut them out to make embellies.
So the next time you pull out those white sheets of paper, don't throw it away, use it!

Delight in December

I can't believe it's December already! This year has flown by so very fast. Have you finished your Christmas shopping yet? Thankfully I shop all year long and have only a few little things (stocking stuffers) and something for my DH and Dad left to buy. Sadly, the only thing on my wishlist this year is a new Nikon D7000 camera which I'm pretty sure I won't be getting!

In working on layouts for the December Sussies kit I've been looking at the photos from last year. It never seems like I love the Christmas pictures but last year I had some really cute ones when the girls got their Raggedy Ann dolls my mom made!

I used the November sketch by Kristine for the first page (don't forget, you still have time to enter the sketch contest)!

I hope your December has gotten off to a great start!
