Using Rubons

Today I'm sharing a quick and easy card using the September Kit.
Sussies kits almost always come with rubons. I used two different ones together to make this grouping of flowers.


Added the rubon sentiment and a few jewels from my stash, and all done.
For 5 points create a card using rubons. For 10 points use a Sussies kit! Be sure to post your projects in the gallery!!

Catalog Inspiration

So, this is the layout that I came up with using a catalog page for inspiration. I liked how there were three photos in the advertisement, and used that in my layout. I went to the gallery and saw some super inspiration layouts, wonderful work!!

October Add-Ons... (and full reveal)

Hello Readers!

Sometimes you're just stuck waiting on vendors. The full reveal and add-ons usually go up on the 15th of the month. In this month's case, I was busy with the Scrapbook Sussies Mountain Retreat (which was a blast, BTW). When I returned and went to photograph the kit, I realized I still was short one embellishment. It still hasn't arrived, but the show must go on.

The Add-Ons are up for sale, but the embellishment add-on is already sold out! Email me if you want to be on the waitlist for that! Here's a pic of this FABULOUS add-on....

Where do You Find Inspiration?

I wanted to share a 3 ring binder that I use for creative inspiration. It has a package of page protectors in it- and I just slide sheets from catalogs, magazines, or other sources. When I need help, I can flip through and get the creative juices flowing. Take some time this week and find new points of view- could be colors, a photo that jumps out of you, or a layout of an advertisement. Next week, I will be back with a layout using inspiration from the above pages. For 5 points create a layout letting us know your inspiration point for your layout or project. For 10 points use a Sussies kit! Be sure to post your projects in the gallery!!

Can't Believe it's Monday again!

Hope you had a great weekend! I can't believe it's already Monday! I had an AWESOME time at the Sussies scrapbook retreat in Estes Park this last weekend and probably did a record number of layouts for me! I think everyone had a very productive and fun time and I know some new friendships were formed!

I did get my October kit and I can't wait to start working with it! I need to unpack first though!

So, here was the last double-page layout I made with the September kit. I used the Fancy Pants Rusted Sun half of the kit to make this layout about a trip to see the Colorado Rapids play this summer!



I'm off to go unpack, but I guess I should issue you a challenge to earn some more points, shouldn't I? My challenge to you is this....

Create a layout lifting one of the Design Team layout titles from this past summer (June, July or August)! Like always, if you complete the challenge and link us up (please tell us the month and DT member you lifted) to your layout in the Sussies Gallery you can earn 10 points for completing the challenge! An additional 5 points will be rewarded if you use a Sussies kit!

Happy Humpday and a Challenge!!

Hello everyone! Aren't you glad that today is Wednesday and we are halfway through this week? I am! Looking forward to some football this weekend. And in honor of Football, your challenge for today is to create a layout that (like a football) has texture on it somewhere. On this layout that I created with the September kit, I peeled the top layer off the glittered chipboard Thickers. It left a "fuzzy" chipboard surface that I inked with brown. I love the texture it gave my layout. You can click on the second picture to see a close up of the textured Thickers. And too, the felt owl that comes in the September kit is also a great texture for this layout!If you complete this challenge and then link it up for us in the comment section, you will receive 10 points. Use a Sussies kit and receive an additional 5 points!! Can't wait to see some texture!!

A Twofer!

Aren't you the lucky ones! Two separate challenges today for you to earn points in the ongoing Spread the Love Challenge!

I originally did this layout (first page) for the sketch challenge but my challenge for you is to incorporate a LARGE shape on your page - whatever shape you'd like, circle, square, rectangle, heart - anything goes as long as it is at least 10 inches big one way (honor system!)...



10 points for completing the challenge, and 15 for using a Sussies kit! Be sure and upload your layout to the Sussies gallery and link us up!

...and ANOTHER fun way to earn points! Can you create a layout with a banner? Here's mine...

I was able to incorporate 2 banners for the title. They are definitely THE trend right now, and I've used them lately on some of my layouts. You can earn 10 points for creating a layout with a banner, posting it to the Scrapbook Sussies gallery, and linking it up here in the comments section. You'll earn an additional 5 points for using a Sussies kit to make your layout.

I've REALLY been gravitating towards 2-page layouts lately. There are great sketches out there for double-page layouts, you can fit twice as many pics, and I love how the left and right just "flow" together! A Day Late....

Ooops! How is it that long weekends always throw me off? I remembered at some point yesterday I was supposed to post but then promptly forgot until I was on my way home from picking up the girls from school today!

I hope you had a great holiday weekend! It really is beginning to seem like fall here with some much cooler temperatures.

So I thought I'd post a quick challenge for you to earn a few more points in the Sussies Share the Love Challenge!

i really loved the colors in the September kit this month!!! it so fun and summery~ this is one of the pages i created this month... FUN, huh??? those "splashes" were one of my favorite embllies... that is one thing i really love about Sussies kits, the unique embellies... you won't see them on every page!!!!
