Well that's what happened for me with the Simple Stories line from the September kit. They matched photos we took at the Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo, Texas from our summer vacation.

Dear current customers, old customers, and potential customers,

It is with very mixed emotions that I bring you the news announcing the closing of Scrapbook Sussies as a monthly kit club. I struggled with this decision for months, but when I finally made the choice, I felt a large weight lifted.

I still believe that Scrapbook Sussies is the best value in kit clubs on the market. I don't think I've ever seen another club that, in addition to giving you $40.00 worth of goodies for just $29.95, also follows that up with TONS of free goodies for customer loyalty.

But with a kit club of that nature, it is imperative that the number of kits going out the door remains high, and, sadly, I have seen a decrease in the number of monthly customers. In addition, I've been working part time and, as a lot of you know, there are more time constraints as the kids get older. So after nearly 6 years as a kit club, Scrapbook Sussies will cease sending out monthly kits.

For those of you participating in the Year of the Sussie 2011, I am going to try to honor as much of the promotion as I can and give you the free special edition kit that you were supposed to get with your October kit. I hope you are enjoying your 3 day weekend! We are heading out to the inlaws in just a bit for lunch and to celebrate Grandpa's birthday. The weather has finally cooled off just a bit and it's almost cold in the mornings! I love this time of the year!Our own designer Valerie Allen created the sketch this month! As most of you know by now I rarely do single-page layouts and it's even more rare for me to just put a single photo on a page but I had to try! Here's the sketch:

And so I created my first page knowing I'd have to get at least 4 (I had 6) more photos on the second page. I thought I'd keep it pretty simple and just incorporated the design elements onto the second page as well! I just used a marker to outline the area although I was tempted to sew. Not tempted enough to do it though!

So, how do you transform a single page sketch into a double page layout? Look for some double page sketches coming soon!

Today I just want to share a quick tip with you.
I like to add a little bit of interest to my page by using different fonts and colors in my title if it's more than 2 or 3 words.
This is such a simple thing, but gives your page a little something extra.

Using the August kit, and some white alpha's from my stash:

I know we all have partial packs of alphas, so I challenge you to mix it up. AND if you're getting the September kit with the Add On, you will have THREE sets of alpha's to work with.
So mix it up in September!!

Scrapping OFF the page....(and a Sept. layout)

After being a teacher for 12 years, I am starting a new adventure this year...KINDERGARTEN! For the first time I will be a full-time kindergarten classroom teacher. This comes after 7 years of being a math teacher, 1 year of teaching 3rd grade, 4 years of being a Math Teacher Leader (and teaching pre-algebra to 8th graders). Needless to say, this is a HUGE change for me! I'm excited, nervous, scared, stressed, ... and a million other emotions I can't even describe.

With all of that being said, I've been spending the whole summer getting ready. One of my projects was to create "bins" for each day of the school week. When I'm gathering materials for my lessons, I can place them in the daily bin and be ready to just grab them for the day. I ordered a set of 10 Flat-rate shipping boxes to be delivered to my home (for FREE from UPS). I cut them to open up one side, mod-podged them, and decorated them with some pretty paper (Green at Heart by Basic Grey). Here's the finished product....

I think they turned out pretty good and now I'm all ready to be ORGANIZED!

Here's a layout I did using the August Sussies Kit to complete a challenge in which we needed a banner. I added the fringe from my stash but incorporated other parts of the kit into this layout. My photos are kinda hanging too like a banner.

Vacation Mini Album

Lots of pictures, I know:) I have been on a mini making kick this past summer. It has really helped to scrap little weekend trips that we took. This mini album was created by cutting August's Scrapbook Sussies Kit paper into 6x6 squares (the two sided paper is awesome for a mini!) The binding is a ring in the corner. I think the most time consuming part of pulling a mini together is figuring out what embellishments to use. That is where having a kit that is already coordinated for you comes in handy! You are free to mix and match worry free.

First Week of School Blues

Hey all! I hope you are having a pleasant August. We are struggling here in our house over the first week of school - early mornings, long days, and lots of back-to-school meetings. Here's hoping for a restful weekend so we can start it all again next week!

Just a quick layout to show today, I have another one that I've been working on which is sitting on my desk and has been for over a week now! How bad is that? I worked on it, have it all laid out and just have not had the time or energy to get back to it! Maybe this weekend :)

This is my layout that I based on the sketch this month! I had lots of fun with all the stitching and pinwheels! Do you remember how to make them? I had forgotten and had to be reminded - just take a square and cut in each corner about half way, then bend those corners in and attach!

I loved the fun and bright colors of the kit this month, hope you are enjoying yours as well! Happy Scrapping!

Have you received your August kit yet? Oh my goodness, how much fun! I LOVED working with this kit! The LYB side of the kit was so fun and colorful and the Pink Paislee with the letters and numbers... I don't know about you but I'm a sucker for them! The only thing that bummed me out a bit was the letter paper only had 1 U! I'm waiting on a second one so I had to photoshop the first one in on my layout :D

As much as I LOVE LOVE LOVE getting new Sussie kits each month, there are a lot of times I have pictures I want to scrap that just don't "fit" with the new kit. This is when I rely on my HUGE stash of older kits. I have been a Sussie for at least five years now and my stash of kits is pretty large. I love using the kits as soon as I get them, but it's almost impossible to use them all up. After I've made several layouts with them, I put all of the pieces back into the bag and save them for later.

Here are some layouts I've made in the past few weeks with some older kits. See if you recognize them. Some are from just a few months ago, and some are from a few years ago!

So I've become a little bit addicted to Pinterest lately! I've been finding so many cool things on there that I want to remember to do at some point (like when I find the time??). A lot of the things I've seen involves more ways to use scrapbook paper, other than scrapbooking. Here are a few examples.

Frame it and use it as wall decor:

Make it a background for a new way to hang your jewelry:
Make a bow from one 12x12 sheet

Cover some letters to make a holiday themed decoration
So if you want to find more ways in which you can use some of your pretty patterned papers and you aren't afraid of becoming obsessed with "pinning," then maybe you'd like to give Pinterest a try as a way for some great inspiration!

On Vacation!

Oh, how I love those words. If only it still didn't mean making lunch and dinner! We're off to Red River for our annual vacation. Cooler temps, mountains, no places to be... I can't wait!

I'm taking the July kit with me although I've been working on a few layouts. Have yet to scan them in though so I'm only sharing a layout and the composition book that I covered for my middle daughter. I had wanted her to record her books that she's read this summer in it but that has yet to happen :)

I have tons of soccer pictures between games and camps - but I loved how Sadie's red-dyed hair worked with the colors in the Bella Boulevard Family Dynamix papers! The layout was loosely based on Kristine's sketch for the month... very loosely! LOL

Hope you are enjoying your summer vacation, all too soon the weather will be turning and the girls will be back in school!

A little Pop!

Today I want to share with you an easy technique that I've been using a bit lately.
A lot of times, either because of the colors I'm using or the patterns I'm using I think my title might get lost on the page. So my solution?
Do my title on some white cardstock and cut it out.
Here is an example of one of the first times I did this:I really wanted the black letters to POP, so I first put them on white cardstock and then cut them out to really contrast with the purple.

Here is another example using this month's kit.

I used the alpha rubons here, made my words "my" and "grows" and then cut them out as one piece. This can really help give that title a little extra something!

It's Another Sketch. With a Prize!!

And we've got something fun for this month. I know I say this a lot, but there is SO MUCH packed in these kits. I always have tons left over after I do my work for the the Design Team. So, I'm sharing this month! I've been trying to go through and organize and purge some of my leftovers and I've put together TWO RAKS to give away this month if you do a page using this month's sketch.
So here's the deal:
This month's sketch is by our very own Valerie Allen.
And this is what I did with it using the June kit.

Now here's the fun part. If you participate and do this sketch, you will be entered into a drawing for one of the RAKS. AND if you use Sussie supplies you're name goes in the hat twice!! Here are the 2 prize packs I've put together. Keep in mind that these are leftovers from past sussies kits. Happy Memorial Day to everyone! I hope you had a wonderful day to celebrate with your family and took time to say thanks to our Military personnel and their families for the great sacrifice they have made/make on a daily basis to keep us protected!

I wanted to show you a sneak peek of what I have been doing with the June Sussies kit! I decided to do something a little different this month. I created a mini album for a friend of mine who will be moving to Germany later this week. I used the kit to create several of the pages to go in this album. It was an 8x8, so that was a little different for me to "shrink down" everything from the normal 12x12 layouts I do. But it was a lot of fun and it really helps make the kit go a long, long way. I still have enough to get several more 8x8 or 12x12 pages done. Here is a peek at one of them I did:

Sketchy Friday

Today I just thought I would quickly share a sketch and a page using the May kit. I'm fairly certain that I've said before how much I love sketches. Here lately, I have to sneak in some scrappy time after the kids are in bed. And let's face it, after a day of taking care of a 4 year old, a 2 year old, and a 9 month old, by the time they go to bed, I'm pretty tired myself. There are times when my brain just has a hard time being creative. So what do I do?
I grab a sketch and easy peasy a layout it born.
This sketch is by Liz Chidester who runs a sketch blog called The Scrappiest.

And here is what I did with it using the May kit!(alphas are from previous kits)

I love how using a sketch eliminates a lot of the time spent putting together a design, but still allows you tons of creative freedom!

Only a month left of school! And to a teacher...that means COUNTDOWN time! The kids are getting restless, the teachers are restless, and the weather is hot. Thankfully, I can use scrapbooking to relax when I get home from work or on the weekends.

About a week ago, I felt like it was Christmas when I got a very HEAVY package from Lara with June AND July's kits in them! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the paper lines that are in those kits! I haven't been able to tear myself away from them...can't wait until you all get to check them out and get crafty with them.

Color Inspiration

It has been quite the week for me! We got back from vacation to a broken refrigerator...It was quite a mess! Fortunately everything has been fixed and I have been sneaking in some scrapping time.
This layout was made from the May kit. My fallback for deciding what colors to use for a layout is to pull colors from the photos. The yellow in Audrey's skirt really popped out for me. Not only is there yellow in the patterned paper, but I also added a yellow flower to the corner.

Busy Time of Year!

I cannot believe how busy this time of year is! Last Monday was the only day I have home until this next Monday! Most of it is fun-filled end-of-the-year activities at school but I'm beat! Trying to finish those last minute teacher's gifts and still go to bed at a reasonable time! I imagine you are all quite busy as well!

Thought I'd post a layout that went together super quickly for me and I hope you can adapt one (or both of the pages) to make a super quick layout too!

I did realize, much to my chagrin, that there is a noticeable mistake on my layout - do you see it? I noticed as soon as I looked at it after I scanned it in and just had to say oh well!

Good Friday? It's a GREAT Friday!

As a teacher, the next best thing after July and August, is SPRING BREAK! I've been enjoying it all week and having so much fun scrapping whenever I feel like it. I think I've gotten a lot done, and I've really been able to dig-in to the April kit (which I LOVE)! I loved the Jillibean Soup side of the kit for precious layouts of my niece (which I posted several weeks ago). I used the "Twig" side of the kit for layouts of my two crazy nephews, Aiden and Evan.

A few weeks ago I made a great investment into a class by Kelly Purkey called Sketchbook 3. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (for 4 weeks) I get an email with sketches and sample layouts. I've really gotten my money's worth because I keep going back to the sketches and using them in different ways. So...a lot of these layouts were created using these sketches. April Showers...

bring lots of wind here in Colorado! It hasn't rained much but the wind sure is blowing. And it makes for some pretty miserable soccer games! With Easter right around the corner and school letting out shortly after that, I'm finding very little time for myself to scrap lately! I hope you aren't having the same problems I am! I did carve some time out Friday night and did some fun layouts with the April kit - hoping to get them scanned in tonight after soccer practice!

Here's a quick Easter layout from last year though - using the Jillibean papers. I'm holding out for some bike pictures so I can use that adorable bike paper! I used the sketch included with the kit for the second page of my layout:

If I can get the other two layouts scanned I'll add them into my post later tonight! If not, be sure to look in the gallery later this week!

Just got them scanned in so I thought I'd upload them! The wind is still blowing hard here, but maybe my layouts using the Little Yellow Bicycle Twig line will inspire you some!

This one was a little out of my comfort zone but I like how it turned out! (Letters for January were not included in the kit.)

And this one was some recent pictures I took after my daughter spent all afternoon trying to decide which instrument she was going to play next year in band - she had so much fun showing it off!

Are you ready for spring?

I can't believe how time flies. It seems like I say that in every post I make. I probably do :) Anyways, I've been so busy catching up on life I've had very little time to scrap. I hope to change that after spring break - with my computer up and running it's much easier to print on the spur of the moment. I have a tentative scrap date set up with a friend next weekend (yeah!) and my photography class is half over.

Thought I'd show you another 2-page layout I did with the March kit. This was probably the quickest layout I've made in forever! Things just seemed to come together when I decided what pictures I wanted to use.

This is my daughters 3rd 5K and it was the first one that she didn't walk at all in! She finished in 41 minutes (sadly I finished later than that but I figure at least I'm doing it ... and it was the first race since November!). The weather was perfect!

I hope spring is beginning to show up in your little part of the world and I hope you are outside enjoying it!

Last week I participated in a sketch challenge that had to be done in only 1 1/2 hour time frame. You may ask if this is even possible. Well, I'm here to say that yes it is. And if you would give it a try yourself, you might find that not only is it possible, but it really helps you to quit all the second guessing that sometimes takes place when creating a layout. You just get in there and do it. And most of the time, it ends up being one of those layouts that you really love!! I used the March kit to create this fun layout:

Bright Colors!!!

One thing I am really drawn to are bright colors in patterned papers and embellishments. That's one of the many reasons why I was really drawn to the My Little Shoebox side of this month's kit. Even though I didn't have any pictures that went with the Asian theme of the paper, I had fun playing with the bright colors. I even got the chance to spritz some of my bright orange Maya Mist to bring out the orange in the embellishments.

The two layouts I made are of my niece and nephew with my Grammy (their Great Grammy)...such wonderful memories that are now captured and will be available to Addy and Evan as they get older (one of the many rewards of scrapbooking)!

Well the weather is making me think of spring - and so will the March kit! Between all my computer issues (don't ask), my photography class (yeah!), and regular school activities I haven't had nearly as much time to play with the kit as I would've liked! But I can print and edit photos now so as soon as our taxes are done I'm spending time scrapping!

I thought I'd share this 2-page layout with you using the Nikki Sivils side of the kit. I also used the sketch in the kit for the first half of the page.

Altered Door Hanger

It has been a while since I had done an altered item, so I decieded it was time to mix itup! I have had a pile of door hangers for years, and thought the green would play well with the papers and embellishments from the March kit. Audrey, our little two year old has the nick name of CoCo, although if you ask her what her name is, she answers ME! I just didn't think me would look as cute hanging on her door ;) Do you have any special plans for the March kit?! We would love to see them!

March Ad Challenge

Today I have this month's ad challenge for you, and it was so much fun for me!

My family is planning a trip to Disney World toward the end of this year, so as I've been in the beginning stages of planning our trip, I have come across a lot of Disney ads. This one for one of their resorts, hit me with inspo!

So here's what I did, using the jammed packed amazing March kit!!
I used the color scheme, the pink circle, and the teal star to come up with this:

Can you believe this weather we are having? Well, you might not if you aren't here in Colorado! It's supposed to be 60 today! And I'm stuck at home with a sick child (strep)... and I got a book I've been waiting for in the mail for 2 months today! So should I hunker down and read or break out that awesome March kit which I just got on Saturday? It's a tough choice. But, given that I am going to have to send off to have photos printed at Walgreens (my primary computer is down and out right now), maybe I'll print then read the rest of the day!

I don't know about you but I feel like I've hardly had a break this month. I was supposed to post on Valentine's Day but had a sick child home and issues with the computer as well (it's neverending! thankfully my new motherboard should be here today and I'm praying it takes care of my problems!).

So I have no scanner and I'm really not used to photographing my layouts but that's all I can do for now. So I'll share all three of my layouts for the month and here's hoping to a much better next month!

Today was suppose to be a day off for us, but that didn't happen. The kids all had to go to school to make up for one of their snow days. I started a new job today, going from SAHM to Full Time Working Mom. And my Work-From-Home-Hubby had to go into the office today. So it was pretty much just a Monday for all of us. What does all that have to do with scrapping you ask? Not much! But because today's the 21st, that does mean we are only a few days away from March which means a new kit!! Who is excited about that?! Pop to It!

Sometimes I have a group of pictures that I have no idea how to scrap! Last fall, we went to a farm and they had an area where kids could roll around and play in corn. I really liked the pictures, but was unsure how it would play out in a layout. The cloud paper from the February kit came to the rescue! It really reminded me of popcorn, and the puffy flowers also completed the look. So, next time you are having some scrappers block, just think out of the box when using papers and embellishments:)

Hello all!

I just wanted to get a note out there to everyone that the March Full Reveal is a little bit delayed! This always happens with the kits that are super close to CHA! I am waiting for a few embellishments from vendors that were just released. The good news is that I have spoken with these vendors and they have told me that the items will be shipping to me either today or tomorrow! So expect a FULL FULL release by next Monday at the latest.

I'll post a SORT OF FULL reveal of what I already have later today or tomorrow!

So sorry for the delay! I guess it's just the price of getting the latest and greatest products as quickly as they are out, eh?

the kit this month was a blast to play with! one of the first things that popped into my head when i saw it was "sisters".... and i created 2 pages with these 2 sisters this month.....

on this page, i pulled out an older picture of my older girls, when there was just 2 sisters and found it fit perfectly with these fun bold papers...

and a new page from this last summer.... they sure have grown!!!

This is a huge shout out to my gal, Ruth T.! She must talk about Sussies kits a lot because, all of a sudden, I was getting a bunch of orders from right around her hometown. At first, I didn't know who was talking Sussies up, but then I got an email from Ruth saying that some of her friends surprised her at a crop by pulling out 'their Sussies kits, too!' LOL!

So, Ruth sent me a pic of herself with her two friends, Stacy L and Heather W, all at a recent crop. They're adorable and I just love that they're sharing!

CHA REPORT: Whew! What a whirlwind trip. I got out to L.A. on Friday afternoon, in time to go to Santa Monica pier and go for a run along the beach. That was pretty cool! (Be sure to check out my video of the crazy Sheraton parking garage... it made me laugh!)

Then, I spent all day Saturday at the show (from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.) I did stop to eat! LOL! I was happy to see the convention center had sushi available (only in L.A.). For those of you who know me, you know I love my Golden Oreos. So I was a little bit unhappy to see they only offered regular oreos...

After the show, I spent Saturday night from 6 p.m. - 2 a.m. working out the spreadsheets. I'm sad right now that I didn't take pictures of the catalogs open and spread out all over my hotel room!

Getting up bright and early, I spent the day at the show on Sunday, placing orders. I did, after that, have time to meet up with some great ladies for dinner. When asked if I wanted a pint of beer or the larger one, I chose the larger one. I didn't hear what she called it, but this is what came to the table! LOL! It was pretty funny to drink out of that glass. Towards the end, I was worried that the beer that was left would completely splash me in the face. It took a lot of concentration!

So those were the CHA adventures... But I'm guessing you guys want pics from the show, too. Never fear!!

this month's kit was so full of fun birthday embellishments, so i knew i would create at least one birthday page. i recently looked through some older photos and found a cute picture of my son on his 3rd birthday. i noticed many of the embellishments were "threes".... three candles on the cakes, three stars on the rub ons, three candle embellishments.... it was perfect!!!!
i created a star from all different papers in the kit and embellished around the star...

OK...

Remember yesterday when I was going on about the Year of the Sussie program and how you already get these great kits for such a great prize. And, in addition to that, you will be getting $140 in free product??

So, I'm about to head to CHA next week (CAN'T WAIT!!!) and soon the sneak peek on the website will be filled with information about all the new stuff that will be coming in future kits. Well, I have a plan.... a plan that will help all subscribers!

For years and years, my spreadsheets for creating kits (Remember, I was a CPA in my pre-children life) called for creating kits that had a value of $36.00. These spreadsheets were very detailed, in order to bring you the latest and greatest, the most variety, and the same value month after month (for the last 61 months!) I walk around CHA with my laptop, often being confused for a worker in a booth because of the laptop. But it's worth it!

Well, it's time for a change! I am officially increasing the value of the kits to $40.00 beginning with the March kit. And I'm not increasing the price!! That's a $40.00 kit for only $29.95!!

(I can't swing it for the February kit because those kits are already put together!)

So, time for some math...

Let's take a customer who is just getting the kit only. They spend $29.95 for a kit that is valued at $40.00. That's $10.05 in savings every month. If they are part of the Year of the Sussie for the whole year, that's $120 in savings just on the kits (Really, it's $112 for this year because Jan & Feb kits were only worth $36). So, $112 in savings and $140 in free product for the Year of the Sussie! That's $252 in free product!!!

Now, add on the cardstock add-on - 6 sheets of cardstock for only $1.75. That cardstock has a value of $3.25. Another $1.50 in savings per month. For 12 months, that's another $18.00 free.

Now, add on the patterned paper add-on - 8 sheets of patterned paper for only $3.50. That patterned paper has a value $6.50. Another $3.00 in savings per month. For 12 months, that's another $36.00 free.

Now, add on the embellishment add-on. Each month you pay $14.95 regardless of how much the add-on is worth. It's always worth at least $15.00, but it is often worth up to $20. Going back to my meticulous spreadsheets, last year, they averaged $17.05 in value. Another $2.10 in savings per month. For 12 months, that's another $25 free.

Not up to adding all that up? It's over $330 in free product for customers who get all of those items. Mix and match - pick which ones are worth it to you! This isn't even including any of the extras that are available at deeply discounted amounts!!

The serious bottom line is - if you buy scrapbooking products - Scrapbook Sussies is the place to be for the best savings around!

Double Sided Greatness!

It's probably been said here before, but the Sussies kits almost always include double sided paper. Sometimes this can cause a creative quandary, because you don't know which side you'd like to use because they are both so great! And other times, it's just a happy, easy choice. January's kit includes some fun, camp themed paper. I love it, but I just don't have any camp pictures. I love to camp, but my hubby really can't stand it, so we've been camping twice in our 18 years together.

So, on the other side of that fun camp paper there are some versatile prints that make it easy to scrap whatever you'd like.
Here's my example:The alphas are from my stash but everything else is from the January kit.
I also mixed in some of the Fancy Pants birthday paper line. So see? Even things with themes can be used for other things!

okay, i said it. i admit it. i do not like camping, so we never really go. but i knew when i saw the January kit it would be perfect for my favorite ourdoor activity...hiking... and i had plenty of pictures to choose from!!!

sometimes when i see a kit i see a theme, but if i look really closely i often see how it can be perfect for whatever pictures we have. and this January kit was so fun to create with without ever having to go camping! lol.

A SNOW day!!! I had off from work last week because of snow and since I was stuck in the house with nothing major that had to get done, I decided to treat myself to scrap-fest. I've been hooked on 2-page layouts lately, since I can cram a lot more pictures in (I have a hard time omitting pictures...I feel like I need to scrap everything).

The birthday paper and embellies were so cute from the January kit that I loved playing with them. Here's my 2-pager....

I hope you enjoyed your holiday if you had one! The girls and I pretty much did nothing today. I've been cleaning my scrap area (finally!) and I can see my desk now, just in time for the February kit which I think I'll get tomorrow! I can't wait!
It's going to be another busy week (I keep thinking that will change!) but between work and helping at school and then after-school activities, the only time I will have to myself this week is Thursday morning! I hope you have a less-busy week planned!

Just thought I'd share one final layout I made from the January kit. I use a lot of the Fancy Pants rub-ons on this layout!

I wanted to use the brads included in the kit so badly - so I made a cupcake out of them! Didn't have enough for all of it but I still think it turned out cute, don't you! Hopefully next week I'll have a sneak for you something from the February kit!!

Scrap Spaces

When I read Valerie's post the other day about making things work for you, it gave me the idea for this post. I have a scrap space in our basement with a nice desk, long work table, lots of storage solutions and even some great paper dividers that I picked up at a LSS. It has really worked great for a couple of years now. However, in the last few months, I have started feeling disconnected from the family when I'm downstairs scrapping. Plus, it's just gotten to be so cold down there!

So, after already having my main supplies packed up from a monthly crop, I decided one night to set up temporary camp in my husband's office (where he is usually) on the main floor of our house. I have my most used supplies sitting neatly around his old ugly chair in the corner. I use the small square side table as my desk. It's the perfect size for my work mat. I have to make things work in order to scrap efficiently and I tend to get pretty messy. Hubby has called me out on that a time or two and so I do try to clean up after myself after each scrap session.

It's not scrapping at my nice big desk with all my supplies within arm's reach, but it works for me for now and it allows me to be close to my husband and kids too!

Making Things Work

I am a big fan of Project Runway, so lately my motto has been- Make it Work!! I know for most of us we don't have much of a choice on our scrap space...But, I really think you can use what you have to motivate yourself to get allot of scrapping done for 2011! At the end of December, I assessed how I was scrapbooking, and how I could better organize my supplies.

I realized that I work better with my holiday supplies split out separately. I spend less time pulling items together for every season, and can easily take these items to a crop.

I also like my papers in one spot, and can now easily flip through them all.

Lastly, add items that you just love! I went with a really ornate light, just because I love it...but, it also holds a great function- giving out lots of bright light in the night hours.

I hope that I have inspired you to make little changes to your area that will make a big impact in your scrapbooking:)

Happy Snow Day!

Oh, how I love the snow when I don't have to get out in it. So beautiful. But, unfortunately even though we had plenty of snow I still had to go out today! And when I got home I had no internet so I couldn't post or check email or anything! Nothing like having no internet to throw a kink in your day!

I had more trouble with the October Afternoon Campfire line just because I didn't have any camping pictures to scrap! But the colors worked beautifully for one last pumpkin patch layout!

I hope you are enjoying the weather whatever your weather may be - and hopefully you're able to squeeze in some scrap time!

i have finished our cute little eclectic December Daily album and just love all of the little details and cute embellies i used from the December Sussies kit, but the cutest thing is how excited my children were to read it and remember all we have done this December. it was a full month, busy and wonderful. many new memories and as you can see so many fun new pictures.....

First all, congrats to all the winners! It looks like some amazing stuff you won!!

My first Monday at home in the new year and I had hoped to get so many things done. I've managed some of them but not nearly enough! I did get two of my January Sussies layouts scanned in though! Today I'm going to share what I did with Kristine's sketch for the month!

I wanted to keep the second page relatively simple since the pictures were so busy. Can't wait to see what you do with the sketch!

Wanted to wish everyone a belated Merry Christmas. I hope you had a wonderful day and are relaxing today! We're cleaning house as my parents are driving up from Texas tomorrow. I'm grateful for the nice weather for their trip but I'd really love to get that blizzard that is supposed to be hitting the east coast today!

Just a real quick (and small!) peak of some of the January Sussies kit. I made small clipboards for the teachers this year for Christmas - made this one using the January kit:

They were simple to make (thankfully!) and just by stamping their names made them seem so much more personal!
